  • BCAAs trigger MPS but can’t sustain it without the other EAAs.
  • If your protein is adequate, BCAAs add little.
  • EAAs can help when whole protein is impractical (very long sessions, between meals, elderly).

Priority Order

  1. Meet daily protein (1.6–2.2 g/kg; 2.0–2.4 g/kg when cutting).
  2. Use whey/food first.
  3. EAAs only for edge cases.
  4. BCAAs: niche use for fasted endurance or if protein is very low.
